Yanqi Hu: Lies have been told too much

In a era that boasting and cheating rampant, I would say is difficult to tell the truth and even more difficult to expose a lie. As Chinese we could see that in China, lying is no longer a problem of personal integrity, but has become the basic manner in government-wise relationships. Since the "Political reform" of 1976, the biggest lie for decades is the so-called "Socialism with Chinese characteristics".

From Deng, Xiaoping to Hu, Jintao, the "Socialism with Chinese characteristics" remained their political slogan, but the nature of Chinese society has already changed to the opposite of "socialism". This is known to everybody living on the earth. While the "Socialism with Chinese characteristics" was not only written into the constitution of China Communist Party, but also written into the Constitution of the Country as the political nature of the multi-ethnic country. This is the biggest lie of all to tell.

As a result of institutionalization of lies, the state apparatus has to spare no effort to maintain their established policies, which require the "unity of information and media". Different voices are prohibited; any media or personnel who dare to speak the truth are repressed, when necessary, even at the cost of utilizing large-scale conspiracy or armed force (in the "June 4th" incident). Because the social costs are high continuous suppressing truth and telling lies, the government has to employ brutal "martial control" on people's speech. In addition to the "Rightists", the so called "historical anti-revolutionary" and "ongoing anti-revolutionary" are major subjects of "Revolution" in Mao Zedong's time. After Mao Zedong, the only change is turning the name "anti-revolutionary" into "Subversion", "Releasing national secrets" and various provisional crime counts. The institutionalized lies appear to be more hidden than before, but the after the 30 years of reform, the "socialism with Chinese characteristics" becomes particularly notorious and particularly deplorable.

Institutionalized lies are manifested in several aspects.

Firstly, ignoramus education.

China's political education has been described as very important. From toddlers in kindergartens, all the way through primary school, secondary school and University, the students have to accept the political education of "socialism with Chinese characteristics", which emphasize blind patriotism and obeying the Communist Party.

Second is a cultural censorship system.

This is the most notorious part! Now the Chinese culture turns itself far away from the mainstream of civilization, which was mainly contributed from the cultural control and filtering system of the Government. The cultural control system directly leads to the ignorance of Chinese people and the retarded situation of contemporary Chinese culture. The cultural censorship system works in several categories: academic censorship, research projects censorship, literature and art censorship, video content censorship, published materials censorship, etc. The purpose of the cultural censorship is to protect the established policies and historical lies.

Thirdly, news censorship.

The the most important principles of news reports are objectiveness and truthfulness. While the "Chinese characteristic" news censorship system made the principles a joke. How much credibility is left in the news after the censorship? The government advocates a society with credibility, but first of all, the government frauds by itself. How could a society of credibility be established when government leading fraud? More importantly, all the lies in news reports make the ignorant people more ignorant. Thus the dark side of the society gets hidden and the people do know the condition of the society, which is not good for the implementation of public supervision and establishment of a democratic society.

Fourth, deprive and weaken rights of the people.

In the blueprint of socialism system, the people were originally designed to have a supremacy position. But in reality, the rights of people as individuals are not secured. Firstly, the "people's congress" under the Party's leadership has deprived of the people's right to vote. Secondly, the socialism "main steam" deprived the people's freedom of speech. Words like "people's democracy" or "people's basic rights" have become sensitive words subject to filtering over the internet. How touching is the deceptive claim "people have the freedom of speech, freedom of full expression of their idea, with no punishment, and government should learn from people's opinion".

In China, my generation of the 1970's may not be familiar with the Marxist-Leninist theory, but after I came to the United States and joined the China Democracy Party, I became more concerned about these socialism theories. The guiding theory of Socialism should be Marxism, and the essence of Marxism is "elimination of all private ownership and the exploiting class." Let alone the right or wrong of this opinion, and Lenin's transcendence over historical stages, and the dictatorship of Stalin, I have to say that a fundamental reality is - the reform means taking the capitalist route. In fact I was aware about this when I started to tell right from wrong. In reality, if anyone is still talking about whether China is still a socialism country, there must be problems in his head. That maybe too serious:) If we say that poverty is not "Chinese characteristics" socialism, then how about the privatization by dominating class? Is that "socialism with Chinese characteristics"? Clearly, the ruling class understands better than anyone else that in reality the capital of the powerful group swiftly controls everything. The destruction of powerful group's capital could have been done by releasing the truth and getting public support, employing both "anti-corruption" and "equal distribution of wealth". This way the contradiction of social groups could be solved smoothly. However, now the best opportunity to use this solution has been passed. The farmers have spontaneous started "Second Agrarian Revolution", which exposed the lie of "socialism with Chinese characteristics". The "socialism with Chinese characteristics" that Deng Xiaoping and Hu Jintao talk about actually is the Communist Party's "one-party dictatorship". The so-called "Land ownership by State" is actually "Land ownership by the persons in power". The "cooperative land ownership" is still "Land ownership by the persons in power"

Now, some of my kind-hearted Chinese compatriots are still dwelling on the vanity promise of "three-steps to affluence" or "two-steps to affluence" as well as "Let some people get rich first", full of anticipation. Actually what's really happening is, trillions of public wealth are "privatized" by a small group of people. The reality is covered by "main stream" voice and various lies of so called "experts". However, most people have realized the deceptive nature of "common prosperity" from the deprivation besides them. My fellow compatriots, it's time to wake up and fight for our rights and freedoms! even if we have just a little bit of strength compared with the powerful "main stream voice".
